In 1991, I came to know Jesus through the Campus Outreach ministry the summer of my junior year. Throughout the rest of college, I learned more about Jesus and the Bible through discipleship groups and through church. My heart for overseas missions grew as I understood more of God’s heart to reach all people. I joined the Campus Outreach Thailand team in 1997.

I want to see God use us to reach and build Thai men and women who will one day have families who love and honor God and continue to labor for him.

I grew up in a Buddhist family. I entered Khon Kaen University (KKU) in May 2010 to study Biology.  That year, I became a Christian through Campus Outreach and then was discipled by CO staff as well. In my third year while I interned in a Plant Taxonomy Lab. I enjoyed my studies but thought to myself “I can’t spend my whole life with just plants. There are many people waiting to hear the gospel!” My heart echoes how Isaiah responded to the question “whom shall I send.” So I came on CO staff in 2015. I want to see students disciple other students on campus and to see them be influencers for Jesus in Thailand and to the ends of the world.

I accepted Jesus Christ into my life in 2015 when I participated in a Campus Outreach camp called Thai Summer Project. God has given me a desire to serve Him and my brothers and sisters in Christ. I came into full time service because I want to make God known to others. I feel the Thai people have not known the truth about God at all. Many Thais who have not yet heard the gospel. I see that the laborers are few even when the fields are ripe for harvest. I want God to use me to reach the Thais through reaching university students.

Through the rest of college, I learned more about Jesus and the Bible through discipleship groups and through church. Seeing how God called me to his salvation through college ministry, I started to have a burden for the lost on campus. I joined the Campus Outreach Thailand team in 2017.

I want to see God use my life to expand his Kingdom  through ministry on campus and see those who give their lives to Christ grow in him and continue to labor for him.

I came into a personal relationship with Christ the summer before my sophomore year of high school. The Lord, by His free gift of grace through Jesus Christ, saved me from the bondage of sin and seeking my identity in the approval and affirmations of others and perfectionism. It is a privilege to be able to serve the Lord full-time in Thailand for two years. I am thankful for the opportunity to see Him be glorified in the community, as well as His name be made known in the households in Khon Kaen.

Shelby recently graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. During her time at UCO, her eternal life was radically changed by the grace of the gospel. A chance encounter with a faithful servant of Christ lead to a gospel centered conversation in a small coffee shop and changed her life forever. Through the discipleship she received from a local college ministry, she learned her purpose is to bring God glory through advancing the gospel to those who have yet to hear the greatest news on earth, equipping believers with the tools needed to become disciples, and raising up laborers on college campuses to become the next world changers that will reach the ends of the earth with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ever since I started walking with the Lord, I believe He has been molding and shaping me to desire to go overseas in order for the gospel to go forth. I have always wanted to go overseas, and this longing has continually been confirmed in my life through various opportunities. As I have learned more about the Lord, I believe His heart is for the nations to come to know Him, and I would love to be a small part of that. This past summer, I had the privilege of spending 6 weeks in New Zealand with Campus Outreach. I was able to work on the college campus, and get a tiny glimpse of what working overseas would look like. This experience also allowed me to see the needs of the world, and showed me just how much the Lord is in control. The precious experiences I have had, coupled with the Lord’s heart for the world, have convinced me to go to all nations!

Before coming to college, I had been active in the church, but I only had a head knowledge of who Christ was. During my sophomore year of college I got involved with CO. I realized the students involved had a deep love and passion for Jesus and others like I had never seen before. For the first time, I realized I did not have a personal relationship with Jesus. I became aware of my sin and my desperate need for Christ to be my Savior. This happened in October 2012. Through spending time in prayer and God’s Word, I am reminded of God calling for his disciples to make disciples of all nations. I am convinced of that call and desire to use my life to do so. I also have grown a passion for education and desire the opportunity to teach overseas. Specifically related to Khon Kaen, I know there is a great need for teachers to educate the missionaries’ children, and, if God opens that door, I would like to meet that need.
