Ryan and Kelly met at the University of Alabama while involved in campus ministry. It was during these years that they both grew deeply in their understanding of what it means to follow Jesus. Having been so impacted by the gospel and the vision to pour your life into others through discipleship, Ryan and Kelly joined staff with Campus Outreach in 2008. Ryan served as the Campus Director at Samford University and then as an Area Director before moving into the role of Mobilization Director. As the Mobilization Director, Ryan worked to connect university graduates with strategic needs around the world. While exploring a potential partnership in Scotland, Ryan and Kelly felt a stirring to move their family to Edinburgh to partner with St. Columba’s Free Church in reaching university students. They believe that Scotland and the whole UK are strategic places to impact university students who can impact the world for Christ.

A Birmingham, Alabama native, Margaret grew up in a Christian home and entered college at The University of Alabama as a Christian in the Fall of 2018. She got involved with Campus Outreach during her freshman year and credits CO for providing her with some of her favorite and funniest memories and most treasured friendships of college. She is thankful to God for the many ways He used CO to shape her faith and understanding of the Gospel and what it looks like to follow Jesus. A desire to work in ministry, coupled with living in Europe as an au pair after graduation, gave Margaret a deeper burden for the lost and a greater sense of the call of The Great Commission to “go and make disciples of ALL nations.” She is grateful to God for the opportunity to serve in Edinburgh, Scotland and take part in the work He is already doing on its university campuses!

Spencer and Katie met during their freshman year at the University of Alabama and were actively involved with Campus Outreach as students until their graduation in 2022, when they got married. They both experienced significant spiritual growth through discipleship by Campus Outreach staff and participation in Beach Project. Following graduation, Spencer pursued a career in Technology Consulting while Katie worked in Customer Relations in Nashville. Although they initially intended to stay in Nashville for a few years, they feel led by the Lord to partner with St. Columba’s Free Church, aiming to share the beauty and truth of the gospel with college students on campuses in Edinburgh, Scotland. Spencer and Katie firmly believe Scotland is a strategically important location for impacting college students, building laborers, and reaching the world for Christ.
