Ryan and Kelly met at the University of Alabama while involved in campus ministry. It was during these years that they both grew deeply in their understanding of what it means to follow Jesus. Having been so impacted by the gospel and the vision to pour your life into others through discipleship, Ryan and Kelly joined staff with Campus Outreach in 2008. Ryan served as the Campus Director at Samford University and then as an Area Director before moving into the role of Mobilization Director. As the Mobilization Director, Ryan worked to connect university graduates with strategic needs around the world. While exploring a potential partnership in Scotland, Ryan and Kelly felt a stirring to move their family to Edinburgh to partner with St. Columba's Free Church in reaching university students. They believe that Scotland and the whole UK are strategic places to impact university students who can impact the world for Christ.
